Slow down and breathe
Sloths Are Awesome, Slow Down and Breathe:
A 21-Day Guided Journal to Overcome Burnout

I started this journey several years ago when I hit a season of burnout after a particularly stressful series of events.
I was leading an organisation that was understaffed, at the same time as trying to negotiate a merger with another similar one. Conversations started well and there was enough enthusiasm to fuel a momentum towards a deal.
And then it happened.
Somewhere along the line some misunderstandings occurred and trust was affected. Decisions were made without good communication and there was a sense of whispers in the room—discussions that not everyone was invited to. To this day, I still can’t put my finger on what went wrong. A careless word? A wrong assumption?
But I was caught up in the middle of it and, suffice to say, I went to see my doctor about symptoms I was experiencing, and he advised that I should take some time out.
I hadn’t been leading a country or a multi-billion corporation, but stress had got the better of me, and I realised that, for some time, I had not been taking care of myself.
I had been working longer and longer hours, taking on tasks that I didn’t really need to.
I had become driven.
The failed merger was one thing, but it occurred on the back of some unhealthy work rhythms and unrealistic expectations of myself.
So I wrote a book about sloths!
Actually, a guided journal to help people avoid what I went through.
Here’s the official blurb describing it:
“Life doesn't have to be lived at full speed. Inspired by one of nature's calmest creatures, this 21-day guided journal helps you step off the treadmill of constant busyness and rediscover a healthier rhythm. Through fascinating insights from the sloth, practical reflections, and thoughtful journaling prompts, you'll learn to recognise the warning signs of burnout, reduce stress, restore your energy, and embrace the power of purposeful rest. If you're ready to stop merely surviving and start thriving again, this journal will guide you one day at a time.”
I don’t know your situation but if you could do with a pointer towards a healthier work experience, then maybe this journal is for you.
